Property: The Chalets du Rhone is a development of ten chalets. The first phase of five chalets have been built and finished. Construction of the second phase of five chalets started in summer 2009 for delivery of the first two chalets in December 2009, and the remaining chalets in autumn 2010. These chalets are available to foreigners.
The site faces East and has stunning 180 degree plus views to the North to the Rhone Valley and Crans Montana, to the East to some pretty villages on the mountain side opposite, and you can see the Matterhorn to the South. The true magic of the location is that you really feel that you are in the mountains, you see hardly any other chalets, just alpine pastures and mountain peaks.
The exterior of the chalets will be finished in larch wood. This is the traditional material used for centuries in this area as this wood is harder and more weather proof than pine. The chalets will be built in traditional style and to a high standard using quality larch timber on the outside and a stone roof with snow bars. Standard finishes include Poggenpohl kitchens, huge windows, and fully wired for broadband and satellite.
The chalets will each sit on a plot of approx 1,000m2 and will be on three floors with the garage underneath. The four bedroom chalets have a surface of around 143m2 net (165m2 gross including the walls) with four double bedrooms, three bathrooms or shower rooms. The five bedroom chalets have a surface of around 175m2 net (200m2 gross including the walls) with five double bedrooms, five bathrooms or shower rooms.
Resort: Les Collons is East and South facing with panoramic views of the Matterhorn situated at the end of the huge Verbier 4 Vallees ski area just 20 minutes from Sion and less than 2 hours from Geneva. At 1800m the village is snow sure with fast, direct access to the Verbier ski area with over 400km of pistes up to 3,330m offering the most challenging skiing in Switzerland.
In the press... "as Verbier’s property prices have climbed as high as its towering Mont-Fort peak and construction has neared its limits, the rest of the Four Valleys is coming into its own…." Says Haig Simonian of the Financial Times in an article entitled "Fringe Value"... click here to see the full article.
