The hand-crafted traditional style Hölzern Chalets must be the most romantic chalets in the Alps. The ten chalets are set around landscaped gardens with a feature pond and also have their own private “wellness” with a sauna, gym, relaxation area, sun terrace, and garden with BBQ area. Eight are built and sold but you still have the chance to buy one of the two remaining chalets and have it finished for Easter.
Located just over an hour from Salzburg airport in the centre of the Lungau ski region, the Hölzern Chalets are set a sunny spot on the outskirts of the pretty village of St Martin on the south side of the valley with wonderful views. The village is in the heart of the Lungau ski region which is accessed by a lift from the village and has good intermediate skiing up to 2,400m. The Lungau lift pass gives access to 300km of pistes served by 63 lifts
and includes several other pretty villages and the modern ski resorts of Katschberg and Obertauern. Some villages are connected by lift and others by the ski bus. The lift system is modern and fast, there are some lovely ski huts/ restaurants on the mountain and plenty of après ski in the vicinity too - 3 discos and 6 bars and pubs in Katschberg.
This is a true dual season holiday destination. St. Martin is one of the sunniest regions in Austria boasting over 200 days sunshine a year and the Hölzern Chalets are within walking distance of the beautiful 18-hole Lungau-Katschberg par 72 tournament course; there is also a 9-hole practice course, a 280m driving range, and a wonderful clubhouse and restaurant.
