Resort: You will find no better example of Austria’s natural beauty than the lakes in the Carinthian Province, fondly known as the Austrian Riviera. Winter: To have access to a ski resort just 100m from the door is a fantastic bonus to any lakeside property, and the family-friendly ski resort of Gerlitzen offers great skiing in winter. The region offers 60km of groomed pistes and plenty of off-piste opportunities too. The skiing comprises 11.4km of blue runs, 45.4km of red runs and 3.3km of black runs. There is also a fun-park for snowboarders and 12km of cross country ski trails.

Summer: Summertime on Ossiacher See is great fun and is Carinthia’s third largest lake. There are plenty of activities in the region including sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba-diving and parasailing. There are also boat rentals available, pleasure cruises, bathing beaches and once every two years they hold waterskiing championships here. Away from the water there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails and long walks over the Gerlitzen mountain are a must as you can see over into Italy and Slovenia on a clear day.
