Resort overview

Resort: The village of Lachtal is located in the Styrian Province of Austria. The resort is an unusual, tastefully purpose-built ski centre near to the wonderful 800 year old walled village of Oberwölz. Skiing is mostly on south-facing slopes of the Zinken (2212m) and the Klosterneuburger. Lachtal is the ideal resort for families and those who want to escape to mountain based sports all year round. This pretty little village is very much at one with nature and makes an ideal place to escape to.

Winter: During winter months Lachtal offers over 55km of superbly groomed family-friendly skiing. You can take the ski lift from the centre of the village at 1600m up to over 2200m where you can enjoy the stunning views and eat at one of the seven mountain huts. There are14km of easy runs, 24km of moderate runs, 2km of difficult runs, and 15km of freeride routes to choose from. If you want the ultimate in winter exercise there is an additional cross country skiing route; illuminated toboggan run, and lots of winter trails. There is also ice skating and curling.

Summer: In summer this region offers a hiking paradise for nature lovers as there are numerous hiking and cycling trails. Sample some traditional Austrian cuisine while enjoying the beautiful scenery and fresh Alpine air. Less than 45 minutes away in Spielberg is the Red Bull Ring which is an historic formula 1 racing course which opened after major refurbishments in May 2011. This superb venue holds lots of racing events and also offers driving experiences and training programs for enthusiasts.
