Resort: Megève is a beautiful medieval Savoyard town with a traffic-free centre, cobbled streets, and horse drawn sleighs. Established as resort by Baroness de Rothschild in 1916 it has become very chic, with fabulous shops, wonderful gourmet restaurants, and luxury hotels. Megève has the perfect ambience and is everything that the modern purpose built ski resorts are not and it also has a huge amount if skiing. The resort is just 70km / under an hour by car from Geneva airport.

Winter: Megève has a substantial ski area of 325km of pistes served by 80 ski lifts. Chamonix is just 30 minutes away and the Mont Blanc ski area offers an additional 700km of piste including glacier skiing at 3840m. The Megève ski area has mainly easy cruising runs and the sunny pistes are perfect for intermediate skiers. The ski area includes Mont Joly at 2355m which has some challenging runs and with over 170 snow canons you can be sure that you will be able to ski right down into the town centre until the very end of the season.

Summer: Without doubt, Megève is the best all-year round resort in France. It is a proper town with a large resident population and all the facilities are open throughout the year. Summer pleasures include an 18 hole par 72 golf course, tennis courts, and both open air and indoor swimming pools. For the more adventurous there is white water rafting, canyoning, parapenting and hot air balloon rides. If you like to keep on the ground there are 150km of marked hiking trails and 80km of biking trails.
