Resort: Saas Fee is a high altitude traditional traffic-free village in a dramatic setting surrounded by glaciers about 2 hours 30 minutes drive from Geneva. Saas Fee has a rare combination as it is both high altitude and charming. With narrow streets lined with old chalets Saas Fee is a beautiful old village oozing Swiss charm and is justly known as “the Pearl of the Alps”.
Winter: At 1800m and with most of the skiing between 2,500 and 3,500m snow is guaranteed. Fast cable cars and an underground funicular whisk you up from the resort to 3,500m quickly and with no queues. Perfect for beginners and intermediates - a quiet nursery area and a mix of blue and red runs even at high altitude. Experts have some dramatic off piste skiing and ski touring and the ski pass includes a free days skiing in Zermatt in the next valley Plenty of other winter sports are on offer and one mountain is dedicated to toboggans and walkers. A huge choice of restaurants and bars make this a fun resort and the nightlife is lively and starts in the snow bars near the lifts and carries on into the early hours.
Summer: Saas Fee is a true dual season resort with all the usual summer facilities including tennis courts and even a small golf course. There are plenty of hiking trails, a high ropes course, a roller coaster style luge and the glacier is open for summer skiing.
Property: Very few properties are authorised for sale to foreigners and only 1,500 m2 of new construction is permitted each year so the supply of new property is very limited. Foreigners who apply for a B permit which gives the right to reside in Switzerland and buy a property have more choice. Prices are reasonable for such a high quality resort compared to Zermatt and we have some detached chalets available.
