Buyers Guides
| Buying a property in Austria, France, Italy or Switzerland is very straightforward as they all have a public notary system. The Notary acts for both the Vendor and the Purchaser and the purchase moneys are protected as they are paid through the notary’s account. Most buyers prefer to sign a power of attorney authorising the notary’s secretary to sign all the documents on their behalf so they do not need to fly out for appointments. The laws, purchase costs, and taxes vary considerably in these countries so we have prepared fact sheets to help: |
