The Appeal of Resale Chalets in Les Trois Vallees

27 May, 2026 by Investors In Property

A brand-new apartment or a traditional Alpine chalet? This is a question many buyers ask themselves when purchasing property in the Alps. Whilst new developments continue to attract strong interest across the resorts, resale properties are equally appealing for buyers looking for prime locations, greater flexibility and authentic Alpine charm.

One of the biggest attractions of resale properties is their location. Many chalets and apartments sit right in the centre of resorts, close to ski lifts, restaurants and amenities, in areas where new construction is limited. Older properties can also offer a warmer and more lived-in feel, with aged wood, stone facades and classic chalet interiors that many buyers still prefer over a more contemporary style.

Another major benefit is immediate availability. Unlike off-plan developments, resale homes are ready to move into straight away, allowing owners to enjoy the property from day one and even begin generating rental income immediately. Resale properties can also offer more freedom when it comes to personal use and rentals, unlike some new-build developments which may come with rental obligations.

Les Trois Vallees is famous for being the largest interconnected ski area in the world, but it is also known for its charming villages and traditional chalet architecture. Below, we have highlighted a selection of resale properties currently available across the resorts of Les Trois Vallees.

Courchevel

Although Courchevel is often associated with luxury hotels and five-star living, some of the most appealing resale properties are found in villages such as Le Praz and Moriond. These quieter areas offer a more traditional mountain setting, with older chalets and a stronger sense of authentic village life.

Chalet Angelina is a perfect example of a traditional Savoyard resale currently on the market. Offering four bedrooms and accommodation for up to eight guests, the property has been built with locally sourced stone and wood and is priced at EUR 2,850,000.

Meribel

Often considered the heart of Les Trois Vallees, Meribel is loved for its traditional Savoyard architecture, lively atmosphere and central ski access. Unlike many purpose-built resorts, Meribel has retained a more authentic feel, making older chalets and apartments especially attractive to buyers.

Located just 350 metres from the slopes, Rosa is a spacious triplex apartment spread across three floors. Built in 2019, the property combines modern finishes with more traditional Alpine elements including cathedral ceilings and a striking fireplace. Additional features include a hammam, ski room, garage and sunny south-facing terraces.

Saint Martin de Belleville

With its stone chalets, cobbled streets and slower pace of life, Saint Martin de Belleville feels like a genuinely lived-in village. In recent years, the village has become particularly popular among buyers looking for a quieter and more serene Alpine setting.

Situated in the peaceful hamlet of Le Châtelard, we have a wonderful off-market chalet enjoying panoramic views across the village and surrounding mountains. Spanning 349m² across three floors, the property includes spacious living areas, a large, heated terrace, a wine cellar and a wellness area complete with a jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and gym.

Val Thorens

At 2300 metres, Val Thorens is renowned for its reliable snow conditions and long winter season. The resort remains especially attractive for buyers focused on ski convenience, rental demand and direct access to the slopes, alongside its lively après scene!

Positioned in the centre of the resort, Serena is a south-facing apartment with modern interiors and elegant finishes throughout. The property features three bedrooms across 88m², alongside a hammam, ski locker and easy access to both the slopes and village amenities.
