Can Non-EU Citizens buy property in Austria?
If you are a non-EU Citizen, there are restrictions on which type of property you are permitted to buy and where.
It is not possible for non-EU citizens to buy a property in The Tyrol, Vorarlberg, or Salzburg Provinces. It is possible to buy in the Carinthia province but only a ‘second home’ status property. These properties are extremely rare to find but we currently have these available for foreigners. To purchase you would need to apply for a foreigner purchase permit, which usually takes a couple of months.
Non-Eu-citizens may only purchase in the name of EU Company if over 50% of the shareholders are resident in the EU.
