Penthouse Apartments in the Swiss Alps

Best views in the building, double-height ceilings and floor to ceiling windows - penthouse apartments in the Alps have a unique appeal. So we have drawn up a list of the best penthouses currently on the market in the Swiss Alps.

In addition, as of this week, we have as many as 3 penthouse apartments coming onto the market in Saas Fee. The first is a four bedroom apartment in a ski in, ski out position with superb views, a glass facade and a cosy mezzanine seating area (see picture above).

The Chedi Penthouses, Andermatt

An obvious place to start really, the Chedi Penthouses are probably the ultimate, luxury penthouse apartments currently on the market.

Working with the architect, these cathedral-like residences in the eaves of the Chedi Hotel can be configured and finished according to the buyer's wishes. With direct access to the sleek Chedi Hotel, these apartments benefit from a plethora of services and facilities and - as a result - have a premium price tag.


The Gotthard Lofts, Andermatt

A more affordable alternative, benefitting from similar direct access to hotel services and facilities, are the Gotthard Lofts. These exclusive apartments on the 6th floor of the Radisson Blu Hotel enjoy expansive views and direct access to the restaurant, bar, gym, spa and fitness suite of the adjoining hotel.

Prices range from 990,000 CHF to 2,700,000 CHF and apartments sizes vary from 1 to 3 bedrooms.


The Adelaide Apartments, Grimentz

Apartments E6 & E7 in the Adelaide Apartment development in Grimentz will both be duplex penthouses with double-height ceilings and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows.

Both with 3 bedrooms and open-plan living/dining areas in front of the windows, these apartments are priced at 1.349m CHF and 1.379m CHF respectively.


La Corniche, Nendaz

A modern duplex apartment with a huge glass frontage and sensational valley views, La Corniche is within walking distance of the gondola station and the centre of Nendaz.

Priced at 1.535m CHF and equipped with 4 bedrooms on two floors, La Corniche is a great penthouse option in the 412km 4 Vallees ski area.


Haus Cornelia, Saas Fee

The Haus Cornelia Penthouse sits in a ski in, ski out position  just below the fantastic Schäferstube restaurant. The apartment has incredible views up to the glaciers above and has private lift access.

The apartment has vaulted ceilings and shares a spa and wellness area with the other apartments in the building. The apartment is priced at 1.45m CHF and has 3 bedrooms.


Breithorn 14, Verbier

Verbier is something of a hot sport for classic, open-to-the-eaves penthouses and Breithorn 14 is a perfect example of this. With exposed timbers and a double-height ceiling, the open plan living space and private balcony are exactly what many prospective buyers will be imagining when thinking about penthouse properties. 

Located just 400m from the slopes, near the Les Esserts lift, it will be no surprise that this 4 bedroom property has a 7.5m CHF price tag but it ticks a lot of boxes!


Liliannette, Verbier

Another premium penthouse option in Verbier is the Liliannette apartment which is close to the Le Rouge lift/piste and the centre of the village. The decor is stunning with exposed timbers throughout and the finest choice of fixtures and fittings. The apartment is complete with a feature fireplace and a private spa area. 

Given the above, the asking price is substantial, but it will make the ideal base for someone seeking that ideal Verbier base.


Kid 221, Verbier

Kid 221 is a cosy, 2 bedroom penthouse in the centre of Verbier. Access to the Medran is easy from this location and the apartment is bathed in plenty of sunlight. The classic vaulated ceiling with exposed timbers gives the penthouse feel. The asking price is 1,890,000 CHF.


Royalp Residence, Villars

The Presidential Suite of the famous Royalp Hotel, the Royalp Residence enjoys a full range of hotel services and sits in a ski in, ski out position at the top of the resort.

With superb views and a classic Swiss interior, the apartment has 4 bedrooms is available for 5.8m CHF.


This is not a comprehensive list by any means, but it does give a flavour of what is available at present. As mentioned above there are more penthouses coming to market in Saas Fee this week so please contact us for further info if that might appeal. 

In addition, for Swiss buyers (passport holders or B/C permit holders) there are plenty more options for an impressive penthouse in resorts like Wengen, Zermatt and Lenzerheide.
